This is a move away from CHIEF, which is primarily a data/customs entry processing system to CDS which includes processing customs entries.
However, it is a much broader customs system which includes setting up and managing most elements of a trader’s customs processes in a digital environment.
Obviously, there are features and functions which will be new to members and HMRC have released the following videos, to guide Members and their customs through these processes:
Smart is aware that many importers are unaware of these changes so hope that these videos will support them in preparing for these upcoming changes.
